(WNY News Now) – A traffic stop in Fredonia early Saturday morning led to the arrest of a Dunkirk woman on multiple driving offenses.

FREDONIA, NY — A Dunkirk resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Route 20 in the Village of Fredonia during the early morning hours of Saturday, April 26, 2025.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Fredonia Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 12:16 a.m. The driver was identified as Kyla E. Curry, 37, of Dunkirk, NY.

Following an investigation, Curry was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Authorities also discovered that she was driving with a revoked license. She was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree, and No or Inadequate Lights.

Curry was processed and released. She is scheduled to appear in the Village of Fredonia Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
