(WNY News Now) – Carolyn B. Shields, 43, was arrested early Sunday morning on aggravated DWI charges following a crash at Allen St. and Scioto St. in Jamestown.

Jamestown, N.Y. – On April 27, 2025, at approximately 2:36 A.M., Jamestown Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Allen St. and Scioto St. Officers arrived to find significant damage at the scene, including a street sign in the roadway, a damaged telephone pole, and visible tire skid marks. A vehicle, heavily damaged, was located stopped in the middle of the street.

Upon investigation, officers made contact with the driver, Carolyn B. Shields, 43, of Falconer. After a brief conversation and assessment, police determined that Shields was operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Shields was taken into custody and transported to the city jail.

Further testing revealed that Shields’ blood alcohol content (BAC) was approximately three times the legal limit. As a result, she was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated, and several other traffic violations related to the accident.

Shields was later released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
