(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man wanted on an outstanding warrant faces additional charges after fleeing from police early Saturday morning.
JAMESTOWN, NY – A man was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit with officers in the early hours of Saturday, April 26.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, members of the 3rd Platoon were on patrol around 12:52 a.m. near the intersection of Winsor Street and Water Street when they encountered 28-year-old Tyler T. Manelick of Jamestown. Officers recognized Manelick as having an active warrant issued by Jamestown City Court for failing to appear.
When officers advised Manelick of the warrant, he fled on foot. After a brief chase, officers successfully apprehended him. Manelick was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment.
In addition to the existing warrant, Manelick has been charged with resisting arrest. His case will be handled by the Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
