(WNY News Now) – Police say a Jamestown man was arrested early Wednesday after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated.

JAMESTOWN — Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident on the city’s south side around 4:57 a.m. on April 23, 2025.

Police located the suspected vehicle, which was reportedly driving on just a rim. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver, identified as 46-year-old Antwene L. Fields, was found to be intoxicated, according to investigators.

Fields was transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing. During a search of his vehicle, officers said they located a quantity of cocaine.

Fields faces several charges, including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI per se, Unlicensed Operator, Unsafe Tire, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (CPCS 7th).

Following his arrest, Fields was booked and released with an appearance ticket for Jamestown City Court, along with multiple traffic citations. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
