(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man is in custody after police say he violated a court order and led officers on a foot chase early Friday morning.
JAMESTOWN – A 48-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning on multiple charges, including aggravated criminal contempt, after allegedly violating an order of protection and threatening a woman on the east side of the city.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the 3rd Platoon responded around 3:25 a.m. on May 2 to a residence for a reported domestic violence-related order of protection violation. The suspect, identified as Wilfredo Castrillo, had allegedly left several voice messages for a female victim in violation of a valid stay-away order and made threatening remarks.
Around 6:24 a.m., officers were called back to the same location after Castrillo reportedly returned and continued making threats. Officers located Castrillo a short distance from the residence, but he fled on foot. After a brief pursuit, he was apprehended and taken into custody.
Castrillo faces two counts of aggravated criminal contempt, resisting arrest, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
