(WNY News Now) – Walter J. Casey Jr., 24, was arrested after surrendering to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant issued by the Town of Leon Court.

LITTLE VALLEY, NY — A Fredonia man was arrested Thursday afternoon after voluntarily turning himself in on a bench warrant, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Walter J. Casey Jr., 24, of Fredonia, appeared at the Sheriff’s Office at approximately 12:00 p.m. on May 1, 2025. The warrant was issued by the Town of Leon Court, though specific details regarding the original case or charges were not released.

After being processed at the Sheriff’s Office in Little Valley, Casey was transported to the Town of Conewango Court for arraignment. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Leon Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
