(WNY News Now) – A Westfield man was arrested early Saturday morning following a traffic stop on Route 20 in the Town of Pomfret.
POMFRET, NY — On May 3, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 20 in the Town of Pomfret that led to a DWI arrest.
Deputies identified the driver as 45-year-old Samual J. Cettell of Westfield, NY. During the stop, deputies observed signs of impairment, and further investigation determined that Cettell was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
In addition to driving while intoxicated, Cettell was also charged with operating a vehicle with no or inadequate plate lamps.
Cettell was taken into custody without incident and released with appearance tickets. He is scheduled to answer the charges in Pomfret Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
