(WNY News Now) – A 52-year-old Jamestown resident faces charges after allegedly threatening a juvenile with a handgun on the city’s east side.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A local man is facing serious charges following a menacing incident reported on the afternoon of May 7, 2025.

At approximately 2:25 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 1st Platoon were on patrol near Winsor and East 2nd Street when they were flagged down by a juvenile. The youth reported that a white male had threatened them with what appeared to be a handgun.

Police quickly identified and located the suspect as Kevin LaMar, 52, a resident of Jamestown. He was taken into custody without incident.

Following an investigation, LaMar was charged with Menacing in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and later released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court, where he will be formally arraigned. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
