(WNY News Now) – An early morning crash in the Town of Carroll resulted in injuries to two people and charges against an 18-year-old Jamestown man for driving while intoxicated.

FREWSBURG, NY – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on Oak Hill Road in the Town of Carroll at approximately 3:41 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2025.

Upon arrival, deputies and EMS personnel found two occupants in the vehicle who had sustained injuries from the crash. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Kyle Knisely of Jamestown, and passenger, 33-year-old Deziray Raak of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, were both transported to UPMC Chautauqua for medical evaluation and treatment.

According to the sheriff’s office, further investigation determined that Knisely was operating the vehicle while intoxicated and had moved unsafely from his lane prior to the crash. He was charged with misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated and a traffic violation for moving from a lane unsafely.

Knisely was released at the scene with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Carroll Court to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
