(WNY News Now) – A Cattaraugus County woman faces multiple charges after deputies responded to a reported motor vehicle accident in the Town of Leon.
LEON, NY — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a local woman following a motor vehicle accident on 42nd Street in the Town of Leon on the evening of May 7, 2025.
According to Sheriff Eric A. Butler, deputies arrested 42-year-old Samantha F. Vecchio of Leon after arriving at the scene at approximately 7:21 p.m. Following an investigation, Vecchio was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Aggravated DWI with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) greater than 0.18%, and additional traffic violations including failure to keep right and speeding.
Vecchio was processed at the scene and released with appearance tickets. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Leon Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
