JAMESTOWN, NY — A 31-year-old Jamestown woman was arrested late Sunday night after fleeing the scene of a motor vehicle accident and later being found under the influence of alcohol.

At approximately 11:53 p.m. on May 11, 2025, officers from the third platoon responded to a call about a motor vehicle accident on the city’s west side. Upon arrival, they discovered that the driver, identified as Sienna M. Swanson, had left the scene. A subsequent search led to Swanson’s location just a short distance away from the crash site.

During the investigation, officers determined that Swanson was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested without incident and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) under New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law 1192-3. Additionally, Swanson faces two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree and several Uniform Traffic Tickets for other violations related to the accident.

Swanson was taken into custody and is being held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court. The charges will be addressed in upcoming court proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
