(WNY News Now) – A Salamanca man faces multiple charges after being stopped by deputies early Monday morning for several traffic violations.

SALAMANCA, N.Y. — A local resident was arrested in the early hours of May 12 following a traffic stop conducted by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office in the City of Salamanca.

Deputies reported that Jordan M. Strauss, 39, was stopped around 12:58 a.m. for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. Upon investigation, Strauss was found to be driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than 0.08%.

Strauss was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (First Offense), DWI with a BAC over 0.08%, Failure to Keep Right, Failure to Give Half the Roadway, and Failure to Signal.

He was processed at the scene and later released with an appearance ticket. Strauss is scheduled to appear in the City of Salamanca Court at a future date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
