(WNY News Now) – Olean, NY — A traffic stop in the early hours of May 12 led to the arrest of three Olean residents on multiple drug and weapon-related charges, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies conducted the stop around 12:58 a.m. on North 13th Street in the City of Olean due to multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. During the stop, deputies identified the vehicle’s occupants as Adam J. Sullivan, 35; Aaron M. Menter, 36; and Tisha K. Hein, 19.

Following consent to search his person, Sullivan was found with approximately 2.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine in his pocket. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 30.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine, an undisclosed quantity of suspected fentanyl, drug packaging materials, paraphernalia, and a switchblade knife.

All three individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing. They were later arraigned in Olean City Court on the following charges:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (Stimulant)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (Intent to Sell)
  • Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree
  • No Seatbelt
• Aaron M. Menter:
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (Stimulant)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (Intent to Sell)
  • Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree
  • Failure to Keep Right
  • Failure to Stop from Alley/Driveway/Private Road
  • No Seatbelt
• Tisha K. Hein:
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (Stimulant)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (Intent to Sell)
  • Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree

All three were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in Olean City Court at a later date for further proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
