(WNY News Now) – Steven M. Sandberg, 41, of Falconer faces charges after Town of Ellicott police found a child in his custody wandering alone outdoors.
On April 24, 2025, at approximately 12:02 AM, Town of Ellicott police responded to a report of a suspicious situation involving a child found wandering alone outside. According to the police report, neighbors discovered the child unattended for an unknown period and contacted authorities.
Officers arrived promptly and safely returned the child to the home. Steven M. Sandberg, 41, the child’s custodian, was issued an appearance ticket on the scene, charging him with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Sandberg is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott court at a later date to address the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
