(WNY News Now) – Town of Ellicott Police have charged a local woman with endangering the welfare of two children following an early morning domestic incident.

ELLICOTT, N.Y. — A woman from Ellicott is facing charges after police responded to a domestic dispute in the early hours of May 17, 2025.

According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:41 a.m. and observed 31-year-old Sarah E. Rodriguez allegedly strike a male while holding a small child. Authorities stated the incident occurred in the presence of a second child.

As a result of the incident, Rodriguez was charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Police issued Rodriguez an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to respond to the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
