(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident is facing felony and misdemeanor charges following a late-night domestic incident on the city’s north side.

On May 20, 2025, at approximately 11:17 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s third platoon responded to a report of a domestic incident at a residence on the north side of the city.

According to police, the investigation revealed that 56-year-old Michael W. Wilcox allegedly took a cell phone from the victim while they were attempting to contact emergency services. Wilcox then left the residence with the phone.

Responding officers located Wilcox a short distance away and recovered the phone. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a felony, and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor.

Wilcox was transported to Jamestown City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
