(WNY News Now) – A 23-year-old Jamestown man was arrested early Sunday morning in the Town of Ellery on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding.

On May 25, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Bemus Point Ellery Road in the Town of Ellery. The driver, identified as Daren M. Vaillancourt, 23, of Jamestown, New York, was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Following the traffic stop, deputies charged Vaillancourt with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI per se, and speeding within a posted zone. He was taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellery Court to answer the charges.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
