(WNY News Now) – Dunkirk Police arrested three individuals on May 16 after a foot chase and warrant-related investigation near Lake Shore Drive East and Deer Street.

DUNKIRK, N.Y. — Three Dunkirk residents were taken into custody Friday afternoon following a warrant arrest operation that escalated into a foot pursuit and multiple charges, according to the Dunkirk Police Department.

At approximately 4:07 p.m. on May 16, a Dunkirk Police officer recognized a man with known active warrants walking near Lake Shore Drive East and Deer Street. The subject, identified as 32-year-old Casey P. Crane of Dunkirk, had outstanding warrants from the Fredonia, Amherst, and Cheektowaga Police Departments.

When officers attempted to detain Crane, he fled on foot and ran into a nearby business. Inside, he physically resisted arrest before officers successfully apprehended him. During the chase, officers observed a female subject flee the area. She was later identified as Maria E. Dominguez-Gill, 32, also of Dunkirk, who was known to have multiple active warrants.

Officers located Dominguez-Gill hiding in a bathroom. She allegedly refused commands and resisted arrest when confronted. As officers attempted to detain her, 60-year-old Maria D. Gill, also of Dunkirk, allegedly interfered with the arrest and was also taken into custody.

During the incident, Crane was found to have tampered with physical evidence, reportedly discarding items while fleeing. He was additionally charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence (felony), Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (all misdemeanors), and Fugitive from Justice due to an extraditable warrant from Erie, Pennsylvania.









Dominguez-Gill was charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, alongside her existing warrants. Maria D. Gill was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and released on an appearance ticket.

Crane and Dominguez-Gill were remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail—Crane without bail, and Dominguez-Gill on $6,000 bail.

All three individuals were processed at Dunkirk Police Headquarters. Court proceedings are pending. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
