(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man was arrested early Thursday morning on a bench warrant and found in possession of a substantial amount of cannabis.

JAMESTOWN, NY – On May 29, 2025, at approximately 4:07 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon conducted a street check near the Washington Street Bridge that led to the arrest of a local man on multiple charges.

Officers identified 50-year-old Scott E. Moore of Jamestown, who was known to have an active warrant for failure to appear in Jamestown City Court. During the arrest, police discovered Moore was in possession of a large quantity of cannabis.

As a result, Moore was charged with Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor under New York State law. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
