(WNY News Now) – Jamestown Police arrested a local man late Saturday night after he was found with property reportedly stolen from neighboring residences.

JAMESTOWN – A 38-year-old Jamestown resident, Douglas E. Puckett Jr., was arrested on the night of May 31, 2025, in connection with a larceny investigation on the city’s southside.

At approximately 11:46 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a larceny complaint involving theft from two neighboring homes. Upon arrival and investigation, officers identified Puckett as the suspect in the reported thefts.

Shortly after responding, officers located Puckett and found him in possession of one of the stolen items. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Puckett is charged with two counts of Petit Larceny and one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
