(WNY News Now) – A single-vehicle crash in Stockton led to DWI and traffic charges for a Portland woman Saturday afternoon.
STOCKTON, NY – On May 31, 2025, at approximately 1:57 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on South Stockton Cassadaga Road in the Town of Stockton.
Deputies identified the driver as 34-year-old Charissa M. Wallace-Buchanan of Portland, New York. She was transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital for evaluation of possible injuries sustained in the crash.
Following an on-scene investigation, deputies determined that Wallace-Buchanan was allegedly driving while intoxicated at the time of the incident. She was also charged with moving from a lane unsafely and operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile phone.
Wallace-Buchanan is scheduled to appear in the Town of Stockton Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
