(WNY News Now) – CELORON, N.Y. — A 41-year-old Jamestown man is facing felony DWI charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Deputies stopped a vehicle on Dunham Avenue in the Village of Celoron at approximately 9:05 p.m. and identified the driver as Christopher M. Jacobs. Upon further investigation, authorities determined that Jacobs was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Jacobs was arrested and charged with Felony DWI under Leandra’s Law—legislation that imposes enhanced penalties for driving under the influence with a child passenger. Additional charges include DWI per se, speeding, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date to respond to the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
