(WNY News Now) – BEMUS POINT, N.Y. — A 25-year-old woman from Ohio was arrested early Saturday morning in Bemus Point for allegedly driving while intoxicated, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 1:06 a.m. on June 7, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Bemus Point Ellery Road in the Village of Bemus Point. The driver, identified as Abigail M. Jenkins of Rittman, Ohio, was reportedly found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Following a roadside investigation, Jenkins was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Speeding in Zone.

She was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges in Ellery Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
