(WNY News Now) – DUNKIRK, N.Y. — A 29-year-old Dunkirk woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left one person with minor injuries, according to the Dunkirk Police Department.

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at approximately 8:48 p.m., officers responded to a reported stabbing victim on Main Street. Upon arrival, they located a female victim suffering from a minor arm injury. Authorities determined that the assault had actually occurred in the 200 block of Leopard Street.

Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Angelica M. Irizarry of Dunkirk. A warrant was issued for her arrest. Irizarry was later taken into custody and charged with Assault in the Second Degree (PL 120.05[2]) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (PL 265.01[2]).

The victim was treated at Brooks Memorial Hospital and released. Irizarry is currently being held pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
