(WNY News Now) – Jamestown police arrested 33-year-old Jimmy Ocasio Alvarez on June 16 following a foot chase, charging him with resisting arrest, possession of fentanyl, and addressing active bench warrants.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — On the evening of June 16, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon conducted a street check at 34 Grant Street, resulting in the arrest of 33-year-old Jamestown resident Jimmy Ocasio Alvarez.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., officers spotted Ocasio Alvarez walking on the city’s east side. Knowing he had several active bench warrants issued by Jamestown City Court, officers instructed him to stop. Instead, Ocasio Alvarez fled on foot, prompting a brief foot pursuit.

After taking him into custody, officers conducted a search incident to arrest and discovered a quantity of fentanyl in his possession. Ocasio Alvarez faces charges of resisting arrest and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, along with being held accountable for his outstanding warrants.

He was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
