Police respond to glass breaking, discover suspect violating order of protection and damaging property
(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A 21-year-old Jamestown man was taken into custody late Tuesday night following a domestic incident on the city’s north side that resulted in multiple charges.
On June 17, 2025, at approximately 11:42 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon were handling a separate call when they heard the sound of breaking glass coming from a nearby residence. Responding immediately, officers arrived at the scene and discovered Illinois D. Jackson inside a home, allegedly destroying property.
Police issued verbal commands in an attempt to have Jackson exit the residence voluntarily. When he failed to comply, officers entered the home and located him hiding in the basement. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Further investigation revealed that Jackson had caused damage to an interior door and was in violation of an existing order of protection. He was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, and Resisting Arrest.
Jackson was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
