(WNY News Now) – A 34-year-old Kiantone resident faces charges after a months-long investigation into the unlawful dumping of whipped cream cans along local roadways.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office concluded an investigation into repeated illegal disposal of whipped cream cans in the Town of Kiantone, resulting in charges against Mackenzie W. Tray, 34, of Kiantone.

Tray was arrested on June 14, 2025, and charged with criminal tampering in the third degree and 68 counts of throwing refuse on highways or adjacent lands. The charges stem from incidents that occurred over a period, with the initial activity reported on May 30, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.

Following his arrest, Tray was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town of Kiantone Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
