(WNY News Now) – Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Dayton man after recovering stolen property from his vehicle.

DAYTON, N.Y. — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Daniel V. Grover, 47, of Dayton, in connection with a theft investigation involving stolen property from a residence on Peck Hill Road.

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 12:29 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an air compressor stolen from a shed. Following an investigation, deputies identified Grover as the suspect. The missing item was located in the trunk of Grover’s vehicle during a search conducted at his residence on Coon Road.

Grover was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree and Petit Larceny. He was processed and released on an appearance ticket.

Grover is scheduled to appear in Town of Dayton Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
