(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown woman is facing multiple charges after police responded to a panic alarm at a downtown business early Tuesday morning.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon were dispatched to the location around 5:30 a.m. on June 17, 2025, following the activation of a panic alarm. Upon arrival, officers encountered 22-year-old Athena M. Partyka, a city resident, reportedly exhibiting erratic behavior inside the business.
Following an on-scene investigation, police determined that Partyka had allegedly caused approximately $1,000 in damage to the property. When officers attempted to place her under arrest, she reportedly resisted but was eventually taken into custody without further incident.
Partyka was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Criminal Tampering in the Third Degree, and Resisting Arrest. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
