(WNY News Now) – David D. Rodriguez, 34, of Falconer, was arrested after allegedly assaulting a victim with a knife on Jamestown’s Eastside, leading to multiple charges including first-degree assault and criminal contempt.
On June 22, 2025, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Jamestown police officers from the 1st platoon responded to an assault report on the Eastside of the city. Upon arrival, officers found the victim on the sidewalk suffering from serious facial injuries.
According to authorities, the suspect, David D. Rodriguez, reportedly punched the victim in the face while holding a knife at a nearby residence. Officers located Rodriguez inside the residence and took him into custody without further incident.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Rodriguez was violating two separate Orders of Protection. He was transported to the City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment on charges of Assault in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and two counts of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree.
The victim was transported by ALSTAR to UPMC Chautauqua for medical treatment. The Jamestown Fire Department and Chautauqua County EMS also assisted at the scene.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
