Justin D. Kulczycki faces multiple charges after resisting arrest and fleeing from deputies during unrelated police activity.
(WNY News Now) – ASHFORD, N.Y. — On Friday, June 20, 2025, at approximately 2:55 p.m., Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 26-year-old Justin D. Kulczycki of Machias, NY, on multiple charges including resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
Deputies encountered Kulczycki on Folts Road in the Town of Ashford while responding to an unrelated matter. Upon making contact, Kulczycki reportedly refused to comply with verbal commands and fled on foot. A brief foot pursuit ensued, during which deputies apprehended him. Authorities say Kulczycki actively resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
Kulczycki was processed at the Cattaraugus County Substation in Yorkshire. He was arraigned in Yorkshire Town Court on an outstanding arrest warrant originating from the Town of Machias. Additional charges include Resisting Arrest (PL 205.30) and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (PL 195.05).
Kulczycki was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
