Larry J. Whitehill Jr. faces felony charges after copper thefts at Ashville site
(WNY News Now) – ASHVILLE, N.Y. — Larry J. Whitehill Jr., 45, of Forestville, has been charged with multiple felonies following an investigation into a series of burglaries at a factory on Fairbanks Road in the Town of Harmony.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police began investigating reports in October 2024 of stolen copper materials and other property from the factory building. The thefts reportedly occurred on several occasions throughout the month, resulting in several thousand dollars in losses.
After months of inquiry, Whitehill was formally charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. Appearance tickets were issued, and Whitehill is scheduled to appear in Harmony Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
