Hunter Wilburn, 19, arrested for third-degree rape after criminal investigation in Chautauqua County

(WNY News Now) – TOWN OF CARROLL, N.Y. — A 19-year-old Jamestown man has been arrested and charged with rape following an investigation into a reported sex offense earlier this year.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the Criminal Investigation Division began looking into an alleged sexual offense in early June 2025. The investigation revealed that Hunter Wilburn allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with another person without their consent.

As a result, Wilburn was arrested on June 30, 2025, and formally charged with Rape in the Third Degree, a violation of New York State Penal Law §130.25.

The incident reportedly occurred in the Town of Carroll, where Wilburn is expected to appear in Town of Carroll Court to face the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
