Thad W. Keefer, 49, dies following single-vehicle motorcycle accident in Kiantone
(WNY News Now) – KIANTONE, N.Y. — A 49-year-old Stockton man died Wednesday evening following a motorcycle crash on Route 62 near Route 60 in the Town of Kiantone, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 6:22 p.m. on July 2, 2025, emergency responders from multiple agencies were dispatched to the scene of a serious motorcycle accident. Investigators determined that the operator, identified as Thad W. Keefer, was riding a 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Route 62 when he attempted to pass other vehicles.
Authorities say Keefer lost control during the maneuver, veering off the road and into a ditch on the east side. The motorcycle then became airborne before crashing.
Keefer was transported by ambulance to UPMC Chautauqua, where he was later pronounced dead.
