Deputies say driver was intoxicated when vehicle struck residence on Mill Street

(WNY News Now) – CASSADAGA, N.Y. — A 62-year-old Cassadaga man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after crashing his vehicle into a porch on Mill Street on Sunday afternoon, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene around 2:08 p.m. on July 6, 2025, following a report of a vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle that had struck a residential porch.

The driver, identified as Stephen P. Bond, was located by deputies at the scene. After conducting an investigation, Bond was taken into custody and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated per se.

Bond was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer the charges in Stockton Town Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
