Police say suspect violated order of protection during vehicle incident on Central Avenue.

(WNY News Now) – DUNKIRK, NY – A Fredonia man was charged following a domestic dispute that escalated into a vehicle incident on Monday, June 30, 2025, according to the Dunkirk Police Department.

At approximately 4:54 PM, officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute in progress near Central Avenue and East 4th Street. The victim reported that she was being followed by a man in a separate vehicle, who allegedly attempted to strike her car with his own.

As the victim pulled into the Dunkirk Police Department parking lot, officers observed the suspect’s vehicle pass by at a high rate of speed. The driver, identified as Angel G. Ramos, 25, of Fredonia, fled the scene but his vehicle was located shortly thereafter, abandoned nearby.

While searching the area, officers spotted Ramos attempting to return to his vehicle and took him into custody. Investigation revealed that an active order of protection was in place, requiring Ramos to stay away from the victim.

Although the majority of the alleged conduct occurred outside city limits, Dunkirk Police charged Ramos with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree under Penal Law §215.50(3) for violating the protection order. He was issued an appearance ticket and released to the New York State Police for further investigation and potential additional charges.

Ramos is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
