(WNY News Now) – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s officers and Jamestown police executed a search warrant at a mobile home in Ellery on July 10, resulting in the seizure of fentanyl, crack cocaine, firearms, and drug paraphernalia, and the arrest of Franklin Matteson III.

On July 10, 2025, narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Jamestown Police Department executed a search warrant at 28 2nd Street in the High Acres Mobile Home Park, Town of Ellery. The search followed months of investigation into suspected narcotics activity at the location.

Franklin Matteson III, 36, of Bemus Point, was present at the residence during the search. Authorities seized approximately 28.7 grams of fentanyl, 1 gram of crack cocaine, a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun, nine high-capacity magazines, scales typically used for narcotics distribution, and $190 in cash.

Matteson was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and nine counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail and scheduled for arraignment at the Centralized Arraignment Program. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
