(WNY News Now) – A Chautauqua County traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old Angola woman and the seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

MAYVILLE, NY – July 22, 2025 — A traffic stop conducted Tuesday morning in the Village of Mayville led to the arrest of Savannah Dorsey-Carter, 26, of Angola, NY, on multiple felony drug and vehicle charges.

At approximately 9:19 a.m., a Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigator observed Dorsey-Carter, who is known to have a suspended driver’s license, operating a vehicle on Route 394 in the Town of Chautauqua. The vehicle was later found parked at the Dollar General store on West Lake Road.

Deputies took Dorsey-Carter into custody after she exited the store. A subsequent search of her person and vehicle revealed 47.1 grams of methamphetamine, 8.5 grams of fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia consistent with narcotics distribution.

Dorsey-Carter was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (2 counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree
  • Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree

In addition, she was issued several traffic citations, including:









  • Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree
  • Unlicensed Operation
  • No Insurance
  • Uninspected Vehicle
  • Unregistered Vehicle
  • Improper Plates

Dorsey-Carter was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to await arraignment through the Centralized Arraignment Program in the Town of Chautauqua Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
