(WNY News Now) – ELLICOTT, N.Y. – Two Falconer residents are facing charges after police say they left a young child alone in a hotel room for an extended period.

According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, officers responded to a Check the Well Being call on August 10, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m. Upon arrival, it is alleged that 28-year-old Keishla Rivera-Perez and 41-year-old Xovier Nieves had left a 5-year-old child unsupervised in their hotel room for a substantial amount of time.

Both Rivera-Perez and Nieves were charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They were each issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
