(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was taken into custody Monday after officers conducting a saturation patrol identified him as having an outstanding New York State parole warrant.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, on August 11, 2025, at approximately 4:41 p.m., officers on patrol near Fulton Street and East 8th Street spotted Alexis Lopez, 42, outside a residence on East 8th Street. Police said they were aware Lopez had an active NYS parole warrant.
When officers approached and informed Lopez he was under arrest, he allegedly refused to comply and attempted to run inside the residence to evade capture. Officers pursued Lopez into the home and were able to detain him.
In addition to the parole warrant, Lopez was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and Resisting Arrest. He was issued an appearance ticket for the new charges and was held in the city jail on the parole warrant. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
