(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was arrested after police responded to a reported domestic dispute on the city’s north side, leading to multiple felony charges.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers were called to a residence on August 27, 2025, at approximately 4:42 p.m. for a domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers determined that 26-year-old Justin A. Conklin allegedly applied pressure to the victim’s throat, restricting their ability to breathe. Police said Conklin also struck the victim several times in the face, head, and shoulders, resulting in injuries.

Authorities reported that the victim is over the age of 65, while Conklin is more than 10 years younger, a factor that adds to the severity of the charges. Investigators further learned that a similar assault reportedly occurred the previous night.

Conklin was later located and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with two counts of strangulation in the second degree and two counts of assault in the second degree, all felonies.

He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
