(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges following a domestic incident on the city’s west side Friday morning.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers responded to a residence at approximately 8:29 a.m. on September 5, 2025, for a report of an order of protection violation.
Investigators say 33-year-old Jonathan Vega Rivera had allegedly contacted the protected party 24 times by phone and called the location where she was staying 17 additional times, violating a full stay-away order of protection.
Police located Vega Rivera a short time later. When officers advised him that he was under arrest, he allegedly ran into a residence and locked the door. Officers were able to convince him to come out, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Vega Rivera was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. He is charged with two counts of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree, and Resisting Arrest. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
