(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown man was taken into custody late Tuesday night on North Main Street after police say he was found in possession of cocaine and had an active warrant for a probation violation.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Third Platoon were on routine patrol in the area of the Wine Cellar, located at 309 North Main Street, at approximately 11:44 p.m. on September 9, 2025. During the patrol, officers observed 33-year-old Kieran J. Hunt of Jamestown standing in front of the business.
Police said Hunt was known to have an outstanding warrant issued by Jamestown City Court for a probation violation. When officers placed him into custody, they reportedly discovered a small amount of cocaine on his person.
Hunt was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree in addition to being held on the probation violation warrant.
Hunt will remain in custody pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
