(WNY News Now) – A Florida man faces multiple charges after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Village of Bemus Point.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday, September 19, 2025, around 9:50 p.m., deputies pulled over a vehicle on Center Street in Bemus Point. The driver was identified as 62-year-old Bret A. Naetzker of Lake Mary, Florida.

During the investigation, deputies determined that Naetzker was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI per se, and Speed in Zone.

Naetzker was later released and is scheduled to appear in Ellery Town Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
