(WNY News Now) – Deputies say a 23-year-old Sinclairville man was arrested after a brief vehicle pursuit in the Town of Chautauqua.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at approximately 7:35 p.m., deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Route 430 in the Town of Chautauqua. The driver, identified as Drake F. Ottaway, 23, allegedly failed to comply, leading deputies on a short pursuit before coming to a stop.
According to deputies, an investigation determined Ottaway was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was issued citations for speeding over 55 mph, driving to the left of pavement markings, failure to comply with a lawful order, failure to stop at a stop sign, having an open alcohol container, driving while intoxicated (DWI), and driving while ability impaired (DWAI).
Ottaway is scheduled to appear in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
