(WNY News Now) – OLEAN, N.Y. – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 36-year-old Olean resident was taken into custody Sunday evening on an active warrant for drug possession.
According to deputies, patrol officers observed Dustin J. Gebauer riding a bicycle near West State Street and 4th Street in Olean around 7:12 p.m. on September 28, 2025. During the encounter, deputies confirmed Gebauer had an active arrest warrant issued by Olean City Court for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
Gebauer was taken into custody, processed, and transported to Olean City Court for arraignment. Following the court appearance, he was released on his own recognizance. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
