(WNY News Now) – ASHFORD, N.Y. — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 41-year-old Olean man was arrested in connection with a theft investigation at a local convenience store.

According to deputies, Richard L. Crull, 41, was taken into custody on Thursday, September 26, 2025, in Ashford, following an investigation into a stolen item from Crosby’s convenience store. Authorities did not disclose the nature of the item.

Crull was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor offense under New York State law. Deputies released him with an appearance ticket, requiring him to return to court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
