(WNY News Now) – TOWN OF WHEATFIELD, N.Y. – A fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian occurred early Thursday morning on Niagara Falls Boulevard, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the crash was reported at approximately 6:44 a.m. on October 2, 2025, after multiple 911 calls came into the Sheriff’s Office Communications Center.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2021 Jeep SUV traveling northbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
Officials confirmed that the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators. No additional details about the driver have been released at this time.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit, along with the Criminal Investigation Bureau, is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
