(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A 19-year-old Jamestown woman faces charges following a disturbance Monday evening on the city’s south side.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Second Platoon responded to a reported fight in progress around 6:40 p.m. on October 6, 2025. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the individuals involved.

During the investigation, police say Leanette Arizmendi, 19, allegedly attempted to reinitiate the altercation. When officers attempted to place her under arrest, Arizmendi reportedly resisted by pulling away. After a brief struggle, she was taken into custody without further incident.

Arizmendi was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and Resisting Arrest. She was later released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
