(WNY News Now) – Lockport, N.Y. — The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Lockport man on multiple felony drug charges following an investigation by the county’s Drug Task Force.
Sheriff Michael Filicetti reported that on September 29, 2025, at approximately 9:51 a.m., deputies took 53-year-old Derek M. Ficarra of Lockport into custody at 1 Locks Plaza. The arrest followed an ongoing investigation into alleged narcotics activity in the area.

Ficarra has been charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felony offenses under New York State law.
Following his arrest, Ficarra was transported to the Niagara County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment in court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
